Footwear is not something guys think about that often. One pair for work, one for sports and one for every other occasion, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Women can point out 12 different types of shoes while walking down a road and while it usually seems like unnecessary information to us, a small bit of knowledge can be really useful when choosing a pair of wedding shoes to wear with your  suit.

Consideration 1: Material

The basic features of your shoes should be black, leather and lace-up. When it comes to the soles, if possible, go for leather instead of rubber. You may think there isn’t a difference, but believe us, it’s just a little thing that will make your shoe look more sophisticated and change your look.

If you’ve invested in a brand new pair, before the wedding, be sure to wear your shoes around the house for a few days after you buy them – this way you’ll soften and break them in, which means you have less chance of sore feet and blisters on your big day. Also remember to scuff the soles a little so you don’t slip when you were them.

Your bride will be happy if you spoil your wedding look with dirty or drab looking shoes. Better still, go shoe hunting with her.

Also keep in mind that if you’re kneeling at the altar, the entire crowd will be able to see the soles of your wedding shoes, so make sure you’ve remembered to remove labels and price tags and your soles are not worn out.
