Let's all be sincere, as a bride to be or even the groom, you've probably imagined the honeymoon a thousand times, some wedding guests will even join you in guessing what the honeymoon will be like. This is the foundation for romance in your marriage and getting a little slice of heaven to start it with.

Sometimes the entire wedding preparation may get you worked up and stressed that if you don't take extra precaution, that special honeymoon getaway might turn sour. So before you hop into this leave with your significant other; there are things to take note of.

1) Location: First things first, you should pick a location you both will enjoy. It's certainly about compromise when it comes to marriage and the honeymoon should certainly be a platform where that starts to take place. You should both plan it to avoid appearing selfish by only considering your interests, and if you're planning a surprise honeymoon for your partner, Make sure you pick a spot that means a lot to them.

2) Pack Sexy oufits: Yes! If you weren't expecting this, you need to understand that 60%(or 100%) of the honeymoon is about sex. You heard me, even if you've been saving yourself till marriage. Honeymoon is the time to loosen up, pick out sexy lingerie with your friends(we all have one friend who is an expert at stuff like that), shop for outfits your husband would totally adore. Guys, now is not the time to pack those boxer shorts you've been using for two years, go shopping for new underwear as you prepare for your honeymoon. This point is key. I can't emphasize it enough.

3) Make Adequate accommodation plans: Many hotels usually have packages for honeymooners especially when you book early. So you should let them know the reason why you are booking either a room or suite; certainly what you can afford, and get to enjoy those amazing things with your spouse put together for you both by the hotel management and you should check in early.

4) Plan Surprises: surprise your loved one, for example, tango lesson, special cooking class, massage, or planning something for them that probably is on their bucket list.

5) Sleep In On The First Night: This will go a long way to show your spouse that you are excited to begin the journey of marriage with them, that you also care about their happiness. I would suggest that for the first day you both arrive at your destination, you should sleep in instead of heading out, to share that special quiet bond with your partner.

6) Make a Spa Appointment: There is nothing as relaxing as visiting a good spa. It has amazing benefits and relaxes one's nerve especially after the wedding planning and party.

7) Shut everything out: this is your moment to be away from the numerous expectations and bustle of daily living, so you should absolutely maximize it. Definitely create a no technology rule at least for a day and carry a camera (instead of your phone) so that you are not tempted to check your messages in between picture taking sessions or when you are sightseeing.

8) Take pictures: what is a good trip without taking pictures? You will definitely want to look back at those moments and relive them, if possible I would suggest you go as far making videos as well. It's definitely priceless and years later, you will be glad you did this because it has a way of rekindling old flames.

9) Do something unforgettable: This is the time to possibly take that risk of doing something you are normally terrified to do. Like ice skating, rollercoaster ride, swimming with dolphins, generally just trying new adventures that will last for a long time.

10) Make the Water Your Friend: Not everyone might be into the yacht or boat cruise thing, but what better time than on your honeymoon vacation, I mean it's incredible. You and your spouse on a boat cruise enjoying the waves, lounging with glasses of champagne and really enjoying the world.

11) Make a Scrapbook: this is awesome in every sense. Add captions to every picture and moment in the scrapbook and don't read till the end of the trip probably when you are back to base and you will be thankful you took this advice.

12) Make Intentional Plans for Every Night: this is certainly not the least of ways to make honeymoon memorable. Every night you spend on your honeymoon should have a special theme. Be unpredictable, try something you've never eaten, order some wine, dance around the room till your partner is reeling with laughter. Be carefree and spontaneous. Have fun newlyweds! Make it that exciting and romantic and watch your honeymoon be the thing you talk about to everyone for a long long time.
