Normally it's frowned upon to put on a white dress or outfit as a guest to a wedding ceremony. It is usually said that the only exception when white should be worn is at the instance of the Bride and Groom when they specifically request their guests to appear in white.

But these days, people have dropped the traditional belief, even Brides put on other range of colors for their wedding day apart from white. However, if you want to put on a white outfit as a guest, you should consider the following guidelines before doing so:

1) Definitely avoid anything that directly resembles a wedding gown. Go instead for a short, playful white dress or a white jumpsuit as seen in the above picture.

2) Always consider the culture, faith and traditions of the couple. If they are more old-fashioned, don't even think about wearing white. It will upset them and you should put them first since it's their special day.

3) Consider the fabric. Choose a white cotton dress over silk or lace. If unsure on what to do, put on a little white; like a white skirt or a colorful print on white.

4) Do not put on hats, fascinators, or pearls rather opt for colorful accessories or edgy statement pieces instead.

The above guidelines are only few tips I could come up with. There are definitely a lot more ideas and tips from experts and professionals involved in wedding events. The most important thing to put into consideration is the way the couple feel about putting on the 'sacred' color on their day. Whatever you want to do, Just don't steal their shine. I hope this article helped for those considering the white dress option as an outfit for a wedding invitation.
