Let's Be Honest, What Wouldn't You Want Your Parents Seeing You Do On Your Wedding?

Who hasn't thought about their wedding day?  Probably no one. As unromantic as I like to tell myself I am, once or twice, I have allowed myself to dabble into deep thoughts of my wedding day and that day apparently looms nearer everyday.

Growing up, whenever I thought about my wedding, all I visualised myself doing was dancing with my father to Oliver Nel's "Baby Girl" Yes, that was the height of my fantasies.  Only God knows how much I loved that song growing up, I would sing the lyrics and chew my mouth when it got to the part where I couldn't decipher the words. The love of this song followed me all through my adult years and that was the first song I downloaded when I got a phone that browsed (Yes, it was that serious)

But, over the weekend, something happened to me and I am still reeling in fear.

I was strolling through the streets of Instagram when I stumbled upon a video that everyone seemed to find exciting. Thanks to network, I couldn't watch it for some time but I read comments on every page that posted the video.

Soon, I watched it and I was shook!

In the video, the groom asked his wife to sit on a chair in the middle of the reception hall and proceeded to do some strange dancing. That wasn't all though. The height of it was when he used his teeth to pull off her garter much to the delight of the guests who were busy taking pictures and videos.

The only person who wasn't there for the act was her father, who many people insist is her uncle. The poor old man jumped out of his seat,   stumbled over his white Agbada in his haste to stop the groom and raced towards where the groom laid trying to get the garter off.  He jumped on him and started pulling him off his daughter.  It was at this point that the groom's friends and relatives intervened and tried to save him from the old man.

This video disturbed me for so many reasons and for a long while, I kept asking myself if the bride had known before hand that the groom was going to do that.

Next, I thought about my Father. What if my husband decides to try something as adventurous as that?  What will I do? How will my father take it? Knowing my father, that scene would probably be on his mind ages to come and I doubt if he will ever have a cordial relationship with my husband.

No, we are not old fashioned but my adventurous side is just not that mature yet.

Knowing myself, I'd ask my husband before the wedding if he intends to do anything funny. I have to be on the safe side o (LOL)

So are you like me?  Did you watch the video and perhaps felt all sorts of ways about it?  Why not drop your thoughts in the comment box.  Guess what?  I can't wait to hear from you
